KRISTIANSAND, NORWAY, September 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — FORMOE is the music project of Norwegian artist and composer Marius Formoe, creating atmospheric, melodic music that moves between Adult Contemporary, pop and soft rock. Melody and arrangement are at the heart of the project, with each track built around strong melodic themes, carefully developed arrangements and a distinctive atmosphere rather than a fixed genre formula.
A major part of the FORMOE sound comes from the production team behind the project. The music is produced in collaboration with veteran Norwegian musician, producer and engineer Alf Emil Eik and award-winning producer and mix engineer Roar Farstad.
Alf Emil Eik has been active in Norwegian music for several decades as a producer, engineer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. As well as working with a-ha, Norway’s biggest international pop success of all time, his extensive career includes work with internationally acclaimed Norwegian-Irish act Secret Garden, contributing as engineer, guitarist, programmer, sampler and backing vocalist across several of their recordings. Eik brings decades of studio experience and a distinctive musical approach to the FORMOE project.
Roar Farstad is an award-winning producer and mix engineer with more than 15 years of professional production experience across pop, R&B, electronic music and other genres. Through his Nustate studio in Kristiansand, Norway, Farstad has played a central role in developing, producing and mixing the FORMOE sound.
Together, Formoe, Eik and Farstad have created a catalogue that has gradually developed a significant international radio presence.
“Always”, featuring Norwegian vocalist June Baltzersen, has become FORMOE’s strongest international radio track to date. The song has received documented airplay in approximately 35 countries and has achieved five A-listings in France as well as an A-listing in the Caribbean. It has also generated radio downloads and airplay across markets including the USA, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Canada and numerous other territories.
The international response has developed through several independent radio campaigns and networks, with “Always” repeatedly moving beyond initial downloads into continued radio rotation. Its results across very different territories have demonstrated a strong fit with Adult Contemporary, melodic pop and soft rock radio formats.
FORMOE’s wider catalogue has also attracted significant international radio attention. “Dreams of Yesterday”, also featuring June Baltzersen on vocals, is currently receiving regular international airplay and rotation, particularly in Europe.
The instrumental track “Fugio” produced an exceptional result in South America, receiving 257 documented plays on a single radio station in Olavarría, Argentina.
The visual side of FORMOE has also gained international recognition. The animated music video for “Dreams of Yesterday” has received international film awards, including Best Music Video and Best Animation at the European Cinematography Awards.
Across the FORMOE catalogue, the music has now been heard on radio in around 40 countries.
The project is now approaching its biggest release to date. A brand-new FORMOE single will be released on January 8, 2027, followed by the debut album “The Beginning of the End” on January 30, 2027.
